Apple Rumored To Launch Over-Ear Headphones

If AirPods fail to offer great sound quality, you’ll be happy to know that Apple’s getting ready to launch noise-canceling over-ear headphones. And sooner than you think!

According to Bloomberg, new Apple headphones are in the pipeline and they will be a high-end offering.

“The Cupertino, California-based technology giant is working on noise-canceling, over-ear headphones that rival headsets from market leaders like Bose and even the company’s own Beats by Dre brand, according to people familiar with the product’s development. The company plans to launch the headphones as early as the end of this year, but has faced development challenges that might push back the release, the people said.”

This is a quote from Ming-Chi Kuo, a KGI Security analyst, who unfortunately couldn’t share details on the pricing.

Seeing how Beats, Bose, Sennheiser and other high-end headphones price tags start at $350, we think it’s safe to say you will pay that, plus a little bit more. It’s Apple, after all!

The last Apple music-related rumor we heard was that Apple was going to buy Shazam. That came true, so the Apple over-ear headphones have a good chance of showing up as well, especially when considering this statement:

“Apple Music and Shazam are a natural fit, sharing a passion for music discovery and delivering great music experiences to our users.”

The question is, when will Apple’s over-ear headphones hit the market?
