Buses Of The Future? Self-Driving Cars, According To Elon Musk

Remember Beverly Hills’ council decision to employ driverless vehicles as means of public transportation? And the fact that they would be reaching Google and Tesla for partnerships? Well, it seems they got to Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO, who is confident that’s the way to help with traffic congestion #automagic

Whether Musk talked to city authorities or he’s reached this conclusion all by himself, we don’t know. What we do know, via  Bloomberg. is that he openly spoke about the possibility of devising “something which is not exactly a bus” to solve the density problem in many cities around the world. “Autonomous vehicles are key… I don’t want to talk too much about it. I have to be careful what I say.”

Will the future buses be inspired by Model 3, Tesla’s first attempt to a fully autonomous car with a 15-inch touchscreen tablet instead of a driver? It may very well be the case. Musk added that “there’s a new type of car or vehicle that would be great for that and that’ll actually take people to their final destination and not just the bus stop.”
