Mark Zuckerberg is really holding his promise of making sure time spent on his social media platforms goes down in quantity but up in quality.
Instagram just announced that it will soon offer Usage Insights, which will show you just how much time you spend on the platform. It’s another great step taken by the platform – Instagram also allows you to download your data.
“We’re building tools that will help the IG community know more about the time they spend on Instagram – any time should be positive and intentional.
Understanding how time online impacts people is important, and it’s the responsibility of all companies to be honest about this. We want to be part of the solution. I take that responsibility seriously,” said Kevin Systrom, the company’s CEO.

However, while tools for better privacy are now in place on Facebook, the platform doesn’t offer a time tracker like Instagram’s Usage Insights. It’s also highly unlikely that it will do so, as Facebook is a much more comprehensive platform than Instagram and no one would want to see just how much time they’re spending here.
