Get ready to laugh a little, courtesy of Apple’s WWDC 2017 event. The company debuted the all new Core ML framework, which will help developers build smarter apps via on-device machine learning capabilities.
Paul Haddad, a developer, demoed the beta on Twitter. He used the new built-in screen recording tool to parade Core ML’s ability to identify and caption objects. Well, computer vision has come a long way in the past few years, but even Apple can’t predict everything.
So Core ML said the famous Mac Pro is a space heater. Afterwards, Haddad ran more tests but Core ML insisted the Mac Pro is either a space heater or a speaker unit.

However, other users had more success with photos and Core ML performed as expected, perhaps even better considering it’s still in beta.
As you know, apps using computer visions need the camera pointed at the right angle for optimal results, so we look forward for more funny mishaps.
Already we can’t help looking suspiciously at our old Mac Pro – so far we thought it’s a sleek, timeless design, now we can’t unsee the „heater”. What about you, do you see a resemblance?
