At a technology fair, speakers from all over the globe come together and change impressions or do lectures in English or their native tongue. If it’s the first, you can handle it as a participant; if it’s the latter though, you’ll have to wait after the translator or worse, try to interpret they’re gestures and mimic. Big companies know this issue very well and Panasonic is one of the first to come up with a solution – a megaphone that translates instantly from Japanese #objectmagic
Megahonyaku (megahon (megaphone) + hon’yaku (translattion)) is a machine that takes the input sentences of the speaker – in Japanese – and translates them automatically in English, Chinese or Korean. To do that, an integrated touchscreen is used by the speaker.
This special megaphone comes with 300 common Japanese sentences pre-installed, like “Watch your step” or “The train has been delayed”. According to Japan Times, this is only the beginning; further web updates will grow the library.
The best part is you don’t have to be in a silent, static environment while speaking through the Megahonyaku. The machine’s speech recognition system is immune to background noise.
Megahonyaku will be available for purchase this December, for 20.000 JPY/month on a three year contract.

#OnePlusWhat
Spacesuit with a oneplus mounted to the arm and special rubber fingers on the spacesuit to use the touchscreen. The processor in the oneplus is probably faster than 99% of the other processors onboard.
