While some may associate the first day of November with Halloween, most of you know there’s another reason to celebrate it this year – a Razer announcement. The gaming company is getting ready to unveil their first smartphone, targeted at gamers, tomorrow. As it often happens, the specs were leaked ahead of time, so we know what to expect #mobilemagic
Razer is going to host an event tomorrow, at 1PM PST / 8PM GMT, to most likely unveil their first product from a brand new category: smartphones. The phone has been on our radar for some time now, especially since we heard the rumor that it might come with a whooping 8GB of RAM.
Well, now, it seems that the rumor might come true. A listing on a recent carrier website revealed all the key specs for the phone in question. If you want to wait until the big event, read no further. Otherwise, carry on. It seems that the phone will be phablet-sized, with a 5.72-inch IGZO display that carries a 120 Hz refresh rate. It’s going to feature a dual camera with auto-focus and LED flash. Expect one wide-angle, 12 MP camera with F/1.75 and a second zoom, 13 MP shooter with F/2.6.
Razer is well aware that its product will be the to-go device for gaming so it’s really going to put 8GB of RAM on this baby, backed up by a huge battery, too – a 4,000 mAh cell with Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+. There’s also talk about Dolby ATMOS sound coupled with the phone’s dual front-facing speakers and a 4G Super-Voice feature. The latter could be referring to extra support when the user is trying to contact people in low coverage areas either through a call or by message.
The price is still a mystery, of course, as well as the overall design of the phone. For that, you’ll have to tune in tomorrow and check our coverage.
