Rumor: HTC Bolt With New Android Nougat And Old Snapdragon 810

HTC Bolt

Two steps forward, one step back; that is what came to mind when we heard the latest rumors regarding HTC Bolt. It seems that the company will launch their next smartphone with Android Nougat out of the pack and the old Snapdragon 810 #mobilemagic

It’s unclear why they’re sticking with the old SoC considering it was “yesterday’s news”. An obvious decision would be to employ the new Snapdragon 820 or 821, but leaked specs suggest otherwise. Still, until we hear officially from the company, nothing is off the table.

Other than that, HTC Bolt will feature a larger screen than HTC 10, namely a 5.5-inch QHD display. It will be equipped with an 18MP camera, 3GB of RAM, 64GB of storage with the option of gaining more with an microSD card. Renders suggest a lack of 3.5mm port in favor of a USB-C audio port.

All in all, HTC Bolt specs point to a pretty good phone, if the Snapdragon remains just a rumor. Otherwise, it might cost them more than they realize.
