Sony Xperia 2 Might Launch At IFA 2019

CashKaro

Sony has released the Xperia 1 during the Mobile World Congress in February but, by the looks of it, we might get to see the Xperia 2 come around as early as the IFA Berlin this year.

This is not uncommon anymore: a lot of manufacturers have gotten into the habit of launching two flagships a year, including Samsung and Huawei so it was just a matter of time until Sony would get into the game as well.

This new information comes from a User Agent Profile (UAProf) file that surfaced online recently, which talks about two phones with model numbers J8210 and J8010.

The current Sony Xperia has the model number J8110, so everyone is, by now, pretty sure the phone we’re seeing here will turn out to be its successor.

There’s really not a lot to talk about when it comes to this supposed device – information is scarce to say the least, but what we do know is that the J8210 device comes with a standard 1920 x 1080 resolution and a 16:9 ratio.

The J8010 device has a 3840 x 1644 resolution instead, which just happens to be the same one the Xperia 1 has.

An earlier leak that was posted on Chinese social media platform Weibo, showcased a phone that looks a lot like the Sony Xperia 1, with the only difference between the two being that that camera bump had been moved to the side of the phone.

This resemblance to the Xperia 1 has led everyone to believe that, if the photo is the real thing, the new device will most likely be somewhat of a spin-off of the original, not a completely now Sony smartphone.

Sony hasn’t said a thing about any of the rumors that have been circulating so far so, as always, take this information with a grain of salt: UAProf files sometimes do get published with wrong information simply for placeholder purposes, don’t be surprised if the published info will eventually change.

Of course, the phone might not be called Xperia 2 either but, until we hear from Sony, that’s the only name we have for it.

When we’ll know more, we’ll tell you all about it.
