Talk About Durability Tests: Redmi Note 7 Flies To Space

We’ve gone everywhere when it comes to durability tests, especially with the Redmi Note 7 – we’ve scratched and cut things on it, and even stepped on them.

But the company went that extra mile to prove that the Note 7 plans to reign supreme and sent one of their units into space, at 35,375m altitude.

The phone performed well, withstanding temperatures of -58 degrees Celsius and maintaining an internal temperature of only 4 degrees Celsius.

It landed back on the ground reportedly without as much as a scratch (at least, there’s none to be seen from the video), after the balloon it was attached to eventually popped. It fell down via a parachute on its sensors, in the middle of a field but survived the drop just fine.

It’s worth noting that the device did look like it turned itself off at one point but when the researchers powered it back on as they retrieved it from its landing spot, it did so smoothly.
