Imagine you happen to be at home and an intruder walks into your house.

The first thing you should do is, of course, call 911. However, if something like this happens, it’s often better you keep as quiet as you can as you try to get help and sometimes it’s just not possible to do both those things at the same time, especially not when you have to speak into a phone.

That is one of the reasons why, in a time of advanced technologies, we should all start investing in services that can help us in times of need without further putting us or our loved ones at risk.

Yi Technology and Noonlight have officially announced their partnership today with a new product that aims to deliver dispatch emergency services to the users’ homes seamlessly, with just the simple tap of a button.

If both these names ring a bell, that’s because we’ve talked about them before – Noonlight is a connected safety technology company that has collaborated, among others, with Axon for the release of the TASER Pulse+, a self-defense device for civilian use that alerts the emergency services without the users having to dial 911, text or even talk.

Yi Technologies on the other hand, have delivered a number of affordable cameras, camera accessories and devices that help the users connect with their families and homes in real time, through both video and audio.

By joining forces, the two companies have merged their technologies to help the users receive help during emergency situations happening in their homes without the need to call 911.

The ability to monitor and protect the things and people that matter is the single most important factor in purchasing a camera for the home,” Sean Da, Yi CEO, has said about the partnership. “Partnering with Noonlight to offer 24/7 Emergency Response greatly enhances the level of protection and comfort our products extend to our customers.”

Yi’s motion alerts and live video feeds will all come equipped with the option of using the Noonlight certified emergency dispatchers who can speak to the local safety agencies and  first responders as well as coordinate them as needed, on the customer’s behalf, and make sure that the situation is under control at all times.

We’re thankful for the opportunity to support Yi in protecting and comforting their customers.” said Nick Droege, co-founder of Noonlight. “Emergency response capabilities should come standard on every connected device and application. And we’re proud to play a role in making important features like 24/7 Emergency Response accessible and easy to integrate for partners like Yi.”

If you do own an Yi Home or plan to purchase one, you won’t have to wait for too long to benefit from the service: according to the two companies, the 24/7 Emergency Response features will start rolling out in July.

I do not want moonlight! It will not let me access a full video and only a clip and continually asks for me to buy it! Why has this changed?
