We’ve scratched the surface on Go Pro’s Omni rig for 360-degree video last week, but now, at the NABShow, the company unveiled their latest addition to the industry and press #actionmagic
The synchronized 6-camera array makes “stitching in post-production easier and more exact — especially when compared to unsynchronized camera arrays”. For 5.399.99 euros you get the rig, Kolor (a VR company) software apps, Autopano Video Pro + Autopano Giga, plus the cameras, of course. It’s an all-inclusive deal but you can buy just the rig for 1.699 euros.
Omni promises stunning imagery, capturing in 8K the world around you, while also being able to “over capture” traditional content. The GoPro Kolor software ensures perfect stitching and fine tuning. In matters of charging options, you can go with batteries or plug the rig in between filming breaks.
The tough aluminum frame makes the rig compact as well as sturdy, so you can take it safely in any scenario, whether you’re filming players on a sports field or documenting your tour through Africa.
