Tablet sales have been in decline for quite some time, as smartphones get more and more powerful, but that’s not stopping Xiaomi from supporting these devices. Ahead of this month’s Mobile World Congress, Xiaomi just announced the 8-inch Mi Pad 4, an Android tablet with plenty under the hood and a reasonable price tag.
For $170, the Mi Pad 4 brings a 1920 x 1200 display powered by a 6,000 mAh battery. Under the hood you’ll find 3 GB of LPDDR4x RAM, the Snapdragon 660 2.2 GHz processor and 32 GB of storage with a microSD slot.

Of course, cameras were not forgotten – the Mi Pad 4 sports a combination of a 5 MP selfie camera and a 13 MP back camera with f/2.0 aperture. For another $60 and bringing the total price to $230, the Mi Pad 4 also brings LTE and upgrades to 4 GB of RAM with 64 GB of storage.
However, it’s unclear if the Mi Pad 4 will be available outside of China and if that the LTE bands will work in the US. We’ll probably know more in a few days, as Xiaomi will participate at MWC Shanghai.
