The beloved TikTok social platform will soon have a dedicated app on the recent LG smart TVs. The TikTok version for Smart TV can be installed in dedicated application stores, while for all Samsung and LG Smart TV models it comes pre-installed.
With the dedicated app on hand, users will be able to easily access their own TikTok account and stream directly from their TV. Just like on the smartphone, users will be able to interact with the content as they usually do.
The creators’ videos will be highlighted in a horizontal banner, along with the videos from various categories.
Maybe TikTok is hoping to meet YouTube’s success, which has known significant audience growth from TV-generated views in the last couple of years.
However, keep in mind that TikTok videos are optimized for smartphone screens while watching it on TV comes with fairly wide sidebands.
