Beloved indie studio A24, famous for movies like Lady Bird, The Lobster, The Florida Project and The Green Knight, will soon have an Elon Musk biopic under its belt.
A new report says Walter Isaacson’s biography of Elon Musk, done with his approval, will be brought to screen by A24 and directed by Darren Aronofsky, another edgy, sometimes controversial name.
Aronofsky is the writer and director of movies like Requiem for A Dream, Pi, Black Swan and the riveting, heart-rending The Whale, where Brendan Fraser earned an Oscar as best actor.
He might seem overqualified to do an Elon Musk biopic but it’s not the first time a major director brings the story of a tech bro to screen.
Danny Boyle did 2015’s Steve Jobs, which earned Michael Fassbender an Oscar nomination.
And, considering we’re talking about A24 here, the angle is going to be a combination of edgy and moody to bait some awards. Curious who will play Grimes!
