Next month, we’re expecting smartwatch galore – Apple Watch Series 6 is rumored to come as well as the next GTS from Amazfit. But, before you start Googl-ing for those, let us talk about the Zepp E series, two new smartwatches.
Huami, the company behind Amazfit, bought Zepp two years ago. In the US, they were well known for baseball and golf sensors. I don’t know how much of that expertise went into these smartwatches, but the reputation boost certainly didn’t hurt.
To be honest, the Zepp E square looks a lot like the GTS. With two differences: the Zepp is thinner, at 9mm, and the button on the right is flatter. That follows pretty nicely the overall design, right? I think it looks much better!
But the round smartwatch is the one that we’re really excited about. Because honestly, we wanted a round smartwatch as sleek as the Watch Series and all the bezel-less rectangular ones we’ve seen so far.
And the Zepp E circle seems to fit the bill. Here you’ve got a 1.28-inch AMOLED screen with an always-on display, just like the T Rex and GTS smartwatches. It’s got a stainless steel casing which makes it feel premium.
Although it’s honestly more of an urban watch, that I’d definitely place in between their fashion lines, it can still track 11 sport modes. That’s a bit less than the T-Rex but again, the Zepp E is more focused on wellness than on outdoor sports.
Of course, you can use it while swimming since it has a 5ATM certification but other features will get you more excited.
What are we talking about? Just check the video above!
Update: this article has been modified to reflect the fact that Zepp E is its own brand, under the Huami umbrella, as is Amazfit.
