Amazon has now launched a new feature, called Amazon Day, which will allow you to have all your packages delivered on the day of your choosing. The idea behind this new feature is for Amazon to not only cut down on the number of delivery trips but on cardboard as well.
“Amazon Day adds another level of convenience to the many shipping benefits Prime members already enjoy. Prime members can now choose to get their orders delivered together in fewer boxes whenever possible on the day that works best for them,” Maria Renz, Vice President for Delivery Experience at Amazon, has said “We’ve been testing this program with a group of Prime members and Amazon Day has already reduced packaging by tens of thousands of boxes – a number that will only continue to grow now that the program is available to Prime members nationwide.”
All you’ll have to do to access the feature is to click the Amazon Day option on the checkout of your next purchase and choose the day you or a member of your family will be at home to receive it.
Amazon will stack up all your orders and deliver them to you in one trip but there’s one thing you have to keep in mind: these orders will have a two-day waiting period, so even if you order something to be delivered on Friday, don’t buy it on Thursday.
The feature was initially tested as an invite-only option but is now available to all Prime members. The company plans to make at least half of its deliveries carbon-neutral by 2030.
