Welcome to Extraordinary Tech 2018. Join Buchanan, Joelle, Mike and myself on our adventures as we test out some of the best tech available in 2018. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday we’ll be showcasing devices that came with us on a cross-country trip this summer, ranging from an outdoor speaker that will change the way you think of sound to a smartwatch that offers the best fitness features at an affordable price. Along the way, we’ll be hosting giveaways of some of the tech featured in this series, so stay tuned!
Extraordinary Tech first took us to Napa Valley to test out the best tech for the day-to-day.
In Los Prietos, however, we were tested by the elements and the tech we used in Napa wouldn’t save us. We had to rely on some of the most rugged tech out there to survive the nights in the campsite (and city).
As with our Napa Valley trip, check out Joelle’s Behind the Scenes video to see exactly what the Extraordinary Team crew was faced with and how the tech listed below!

1.The nights were dark in Los Prietos Campsite, but the LuminAID PackLite Nova USB saved us. Light and easy to use, these lanterns are versatile and can bright up any night with atmospheric light. Check out our whole adventure here!
2. What can you do if open fires aren’t allowed at your campsite? BioLite’s solution is to bring the fire pit to you, anywhere you go! The BioLite FirePit is the campfire and camping experience to go, portable and easily set up at any location. That’s not even mentioning its smokeless cooking capabilities! Find out more here!
3. A staple tech product in our Napa Valley trip as well, the Voltaic OffGrid Solar Backpack was a blessing we didn’t know we needed. Certainly, it was a convenient backpack, but as the night sky found its way above the horizon, our tech remained fully charged thanks to the solar charged external battery. See what else the OffGrid Solar Backpack can do here!
With Los Prietos in the books (Rocketbook anyone?), we set our sights on Catalina! One more trip, a whole bunch of Extraordinary Tech left to explore!
