In the times of Coronavirus, people have turned out to be very resourceful when it comes to having fun. From balcony parties to Zoom parties, we sure know how to have fun on a lockdown.
Spotify is aware of that and wants to do its part and make parties a little bit easier, with a new feature – Group Sessions.
With the new ‘party tool’, the company offers Premium Spotify users the chance to take the DJ role and contribute to a live playlist live.
The one hosting the group session gets a scannable code which can be shared with the other users in the session so that they can ‘take over’ and add songs themselves.
According to CNET, the new tool is available for members of Spotify’s Alpha and Beta testing programs on iOS and Android, until the company puts the details together and roll out the Group Sessions to everybody.
Until the product becomes broadly available, you can benefit from it by signing up for the Alpha or Beta program.
