LG’s Newest Patent is For a Smartwatch Camera

LG has recently filed a patent with the United States Trademark and Patent Office (USTPO) for a smartwatch that features a camera attachment placed in the wrist band.

The images that accompany the patent showcase the ways the users would manage the camera by either employing an adjustable wrist band that will allow them to change the angle of the camera or a metal link the camera can be placed in, which could be removed.

The camera would not only take photos but those photos could prove to be helpful by working hand-in-hand with the software: by taking photos of their food, the users could get calorie intake info as well as scan codes at the supermarkets.

While we know that filing patents doesn’t mean that the devices will become a reality, we have to say, if LG would decide to give it a shot and if the company could make it work, they’d most likely have a real winner on their hands.
