Motorola Razr is this month’s hottest launch. Well, this and Tesla’s Cybertruck. Remade after the iconic Razr V3, this 2019 Razr is gonna make you rethink the clamshell phones of old by keeping the form but turning all into display.
Where used to be a keyboard on the Razr V3, there will be a vertical display, making 2 screens into one sleek 6.2-inch OLED screen.
How is that fossible? Thanks to a foldable design. Yes, Motorola Razr is about to be the first foldable phone with a clamshell design. Unlike Galaxy Fold and Mate X, this smartphone will unfold vertically, not horizontally like a book.
From what we’ve seen in the leaks, Motorola Razr is going to be extremely compact, too. You’ll use it with one hand easily! In fact, it may just fit in pockets and clutch bags and mini backpacks. That’s something we almost resigned ourselves to lose, ever since companies started making the screens bigger year after year.
On the outside, you’ll find an extra, third screen. This one will come in handy when you want to see notifications and play with media controls. Some leaked designs point to the third screen showcasing a selfie so our wild guess is that the primary camera will also be the selfie camera.
Best news is… Motorola Razr will probably be the cheapest foldable smartphone around. It’s retail price will be $1500, almost $1000 less than Mate X, that sells for $2400.
Why so cheap? The specs are not as premium as you may think.
