Netflix is starting to test out a potential video game subscription service, according to a report by VGC.
This first step into the game streaming industry is starting in Poland, where Netflix subscribers can try out a Netflix mobile gaming service on Android. The games they can play are Stranger Things: 1984 and Stranger Things 3.
In line with earlier statements from the company, these games will be included in the Netflix membership for no extra fees. The games will also have no ads and no in-app purchases.
Netflix has previously confirmed its desire to expand into gaming, both by a statement from its co-CEO Reed Hastings and hiring gaming industry veteran Mike Verdu to lead the charge.
Even though the company has made these first steps, they are also making it clear that there is much work to be done to turn this into a key service for its customers.
