Photography fans now have a new reason to be excited, as Nikon has just announced the development of the first flagship design for which the Nikon Z mount has been adopted, the Z 9 model.
Bringing a significant leap in technology and performance, the Nikon FX-format mirrorless camera is scheduled for release in 2021, and as the company stated, the mirrorless flagship camera will deliver “the best still and video performance in Nikon history”.
There are few details available, and a single image of the product, but as far as we can see, the camera looks like a hybrid between the current mirrorless Z7 and the D6 full-frame DSLR, with a built-in vertical grip.
Z9 meets the needs of photographs across a wide range of genres, promising Nikon’s groundbreaking technologies with the best still and video performance in Nikon history. The camera features the newly developed FX-format stacked CMOS sensor and a new image-processing powerhouse.
With support for 8K video recording and other relevant video specifications, the Z 9 integrates the latest usability as a tool, providing an extraordinary imaging experience, from capture to workflow.
