If lighting is something you really value when enhancing your living space, the newly-launched Philips Hue Sync app is definitely what you’re looking for. Available on Mac and PCs, you can sync your Hue lights to the movies, games or music you’re playing for a more “immersive experience.”
Using what Philips calls a “smart color algorithm,” the Philips Hue App gathers info from the content you’re playing and then creates light scripts for the Hue lights in your home, offering dynamic lighting effects.
To set up this app, you have to first create a new entertainment area in the Philips Hue app on iOS or Android. Then, download the new Philips Hue Sync app on a desktop computer, connect to a bridge, and choose that new entertainment area. From there, you can set your own preferences when it comes to hue intensity and audio detection.
The app announcement was followed by news that Philips will also bring new lights in July. The company will launch a Hue Lily bulb for gardens and a Hue Calla for pathways, so those lighting effects you’re now enjoying indoors will also be available outdoors.
