You’ve probably seen a drone race by now. But you’ve never seen several powerful cars trying to beat the best drone pilots at their own game. Yet, it almost happens in Dronekhana, a promotional video captured by Ford #actionmagic
Filmed at Ford’s headquarters in Cologne, Germany, the clip showcases a couple of Ford’s best rides: the new Focus RS, a Mustang, Ranger pickup and B-MAX car. All of them are giving a hard time to World Drone Prix champion Luke Banister and his teammate Brett Collis during an insane obstacle course. The idea is to see who crosses the finish line undamaged. It’s a tight chase, where drones go through vans, underneath trucks and around smoking tires.
Dronekhana was shot using other drones and a rack of 36 GoPro cameras connected together. Besides the POV footage, the other drones followed the racers while the GoPros helped to render the bullet-time motion.
Pretty cool, right?
