It’s that time of the year again, folks. The holiday season is almost upon us – give it a couple of weeks and the craziness will begin. If you’re like me, it’s a time when you rack your brain trying to come up with a suitable gift for your friend or partner. If it helps, this year I already have a couple of tech gifts in mind for different lifestyles.
One’s from Puma – the brand’s first smartwatch, in fact. Since when does Puma have a tech department to brainstorm smartwatches? They don’t. However, they do have Fossil’s support. So, their first gadget has the performance you’d expect from a Fossil smartwatch with the company’s sporty signature.
The Puma smartwatch runs on a Snapdragon Wear 3100 with Wear OS and all it entails. Under the 44mm case with a 1.19-inch AMOLED touchscreen, you will find 4GB of storage and 512MB of RAM, besides a battery that will last longer than 24 hours.
The design – a mix of nylon and aluminum – is pretty lightweight, thanks to a couple of cutouts near the side button. There you will notice the company’s logo – very discreet but noticeable enough to satisfy a Puma fan.
This one costs $275, comes in three colors – white strap and rose gold dial, black strap and black dial and neon gold and black dial. It will become available just as the holiday season starts, in the first part of November.
Another top smartwatch from Fossil is Gen 5. This one is more fashion-forward and also has a built-in speaker and mic, so you can connect to Google Assistant and comes in various colors and finishes.
