Update: Xiaomi announced launch event date.
Mobile World Congress is just around the corner so, naturally, smartphone rumors have been flooding the Internet. Most recently, renders and specs concerning Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 have given us another reason to get excited about the biggest mobile trade show in Europe. #mobilemagic
Two versions of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 have been seen in the wild. Both have similar design – very slim top and bottom bezels with dual vertical cameras on the back, above a fingerprint scanner. The whole look will remind you of Samsung’ premium phones, Galaxy S8 and even the S9, which will make an appearance at MWC, as well.
Under the aluminum chassis, you’ll find a Snapdragon 636 CPU and 3 or 4Gb of RAM. The dual camera is bound to come with a 16MP sensor and a 5MP depth one. There are at least 64GB of internal storage for all your media and a huge 4,100 mAh battery. With a 5.99-inch LCD display with FHD+, the phone is rumored to hit the market with a CNY 1499 (around $237) price.
As usual, Xiaomi is going to mix great design and specs with a very budget-friendly price. Best of all, you’ll get to see witness the official version of the phone in a bit over a week. The company will unveil the handset in an event set in India on February 14.
Will you consider buying one, if the rumors come true?
