The Xperia XZ3 marks the company’s first handset that sports an OLED display. OLED screens are not only more power efficient but they also allow the device to display more vibrant colors.

The device was unveiled during the IFA Berlin on Thursday and the phone feels and looks a lot like the XZ2 to the point where it seems like it’s merely an update of the previous model.

The surface differences between the two are not many. The XZ3 does offer a larger display, with a 6 inch 2880 x 1440 at an 18:9 aspect ratio and it also comes with a larger battery of 3330 mAh, compared to the XZ2’s 3180mAh. It will also ship with the latest Android 9.0 Pie.

The base hardware is almost identical between the two models: the handset has a Snapdragon 845 processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage which can be expanded via microSD.

The device has a 19 megapixel rear camera that can shoot 4K HDR video and 960fps slow motion. The front facing camera has been upgraded to a 13-megapixel sensor and it can capture selfies all while using beauty and portrait mode at the same time.

If you are interested in the Xperia XZ3, you’ll have to be patient though, as the phone goes on sale on October 17th with a price tag of $899.99.
