Samsung made an appearance at the Qualcomm Tech Summit in Hawaii with a prototype phone that the company’s been quite tight-lipped about.
The device is able to stream 4K videos over Verizon’s 5G network but Samsung has not allowed anyone to come near it. Even so, we could clearly see the device’s strange design with a notch in the right top corner of the screen.
Of course, that’s the camera slot, though the space seemed too wide for it. We can only assume this particular type of camera could simply require more space but at the end of the day, the device is merely a prototype. The final smartphone form could differ greatly from the one revealed now.
Samsung was unwilling to talk about specs, but what we do know is that this smartphone was made for 5G streaming. In the end, most of us could gloss over the notch and enjoy the data speed, if the company ultimately chooses to keep the design.
