Spotify Is Now Making Playlists For Your Pet

Spotify just released a goofy new playlist generator that will create playlists for you and your pet. The company is trying to stand out between music streaming providers, given they all have the same music offering, and is now focusing on more than just humans.

You can now go on Spotify’s Pet Playlist website and find music both you and your pet will enjoy. To get started, you have to select the type of pet you have – cat, dog, iguana, bird, or hamster – and set a few character traits, like whether they’re energetic or relaxed, shy or friendly, and apathetic or curious. You can also add your pet’s name and photo to get a playlist icon with your cherished ones’ name on it.

The playlist generator will the spit out tracks that the human owner of the account might like and also fit the personality traits you selected for your pet.

A Spotify research shows that 74% of pet owners play music for their pets to calm them down a bit, and 80% believe that the animals who live with them enjoy listening to music.
