After Instagram, Pinterest, and Gmail released Dark Mode on Android in recent months, following long anticipation, it’s now Whatsapp’s turn to dim down the lights.
The new feature was spotted in the latest beta release of the messaging-platform of the Android app. Users with the Facebook-owned app that have the 2.20.13 beta version can now select “Dark Theme” in the “Chats” section of the app’s settings menu.
Besides making the interface more pleasing to the eye, “dark mode” can help improve battery life on OLED display phones.
Faultfinders may say the color scheme of the new feature is grayer than absolute black, but it’s still a major improvement from the classic Whatsapp green.
The app doesn’t appear to have any other noteworthy updates.
