Apple Now Offering iPhone Repairs At Your Doorstep

A new repair service is available from Apple, where one of its authorized service providers will show up at your home or office to repair your device.

First reported by MacRumors , the service can be accessed via Apple’s support site where in some cases you’ll see an onsite repair option next to the existing in-store and mail-in services. “In select locations, onsite service may be available,” Apple’s support page shows.

It seems that only some repair jobs are covered for house calls, like a cracked iPhone screen. More complex issues don’t seem to have the service available, larger Mac Pro’s & iMac Pro systems users who would benefit from this service still have to wait for it to be extended.

Apple also notes that an “onsite visit fee” may be charged, on top of the repair costs. The assistance is currently available in six cities across the US: San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Huston, and Dallas.

Apple has offered this type of service before, called AppleCare for Enterprise it was only available for businesses using thousands of devices.
With the extra fee and the limited types of repairs, an onsite fix isn’t really the best alternative, but it’s good to know it’s there if needed.
