LG carefully planned the release of its new smartphone, the LG Velvet, which was launched today in South Korea. The company issued a series of announcements and teases weeks ahead of the release.
It started in April when LG announced the name and design of the device. Then, new details about the camera, processor, and different specs were revealed every week leading to the launch.

The LG Velvet has finally arrived and is here to impress its mid-range competitors. The new smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 765 and has a 6.8-inch OLED display.

The main “raindrop” triple rear camera array has a 48-megapixel sensor, and it’s joined by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 5-megapixel depth sensor, and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera

Internally, the phone has 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, an IP68 water resistance rating, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. The LG Velvet has a 4,300 mAh battery and supports both fast and wireless charging. Of course, we can’t have an LG without a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The LG Velvet is available in orange, green, black, and white and will cost ₩899,800 (around $700). That’s in South Korea, LG promised more details about the rest of the world release later this month.
