Vivo will be releasing the X70 series of smartphones on September 9th, in China and, while the company teased X70 Pro Plus’ ZEISS optics with T* coating, ZEISS VARIO TESSAR 1.57-3.4 aperture / 14-125 ASPH lens, it did not give us more information on the upcoming devices.
In spite of that, with just a few days left until launch, leaks have been spreading left and right, to the point where there’s few surprises left for us to look forward to. The most recent one comes from Chinese microblogging platform Weibo.
Here’s everything we know.
Vivo X70 and Vivo X70 Pro
Both devices will have a 6.56-inch (2376×1080 pixels) Full HD+ 19.8:9 AMOLED HDR10+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
The X70 will measure 160.10×75.39×7.55mm and weigh 181g while the X70 Pro’s dimensions are 158.30×73.21×7.99mm and will tip the scales at 185g.
Storage-wise the devices will have 8GB RAM + 128GB/256GB storage / 12GB RAM with 256GB storage options and both will feature Dual SIM.
The X70 will have a 48MP Sony IMX 766 camera on the back, OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide lens with macro and a 12MP portrait camera.
The Pro version will have a 50MP main snapper with a Samsung GN1 sensor, OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide lens with macro, a 12MP portrait camera and an 8MP periscope.
Both devices will feature a 32MP selfie snapper on the front.
The X70 will have a 4,400mAh battery while the Pro a 4,450mAh, both with 44W fast charging.
We’ll find either an Exynos 1080 chipset or a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 under the hood for the X70, while the X70 Pro will pack an Exynos 1080.
Other features include 5G SA/ NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ax, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS (L1+L5 Dual Band) + GLONASS and USB Type-C.
Vivo X70 Pro+
The Plus version of the smartphone has a 6.78 inch Quad HD+ E5 AMOLED HDR10+ 10-bit display with a 120Hz refresh rate and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
It measures 164.54×75.21×8.89mm and is significantly heavier than its siblings, at 209g.
It has 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, 256GB (UFS 3.1) storage.
For the selfie camera, we’ll find the same 32MP sensor present in other other devices, while on the back, we have an entire party made out of a 50MP camera with a Samsung GN1 sensor, a 48MP Sony IMX598 ultra-wide, a 12MP portrait camera, an 8MP periscope, an LED flash, 4-axis OIS Gimbal stabilization and laser autofocus.
It will all be powered up by a 4,500mAh battery with 55W fast charging capabilities and 50W wireless fast charging.
Other features include USB Type-C Audio, Hi-Fi audio, 5G SA/ NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 802.11 ax, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS (L1+L5 Dual Band) + GLONASS.
Needless to say, the X70 line is shaping up to be really impressive. We’re really excited for the phone’s launch and we hope that Vivo is still holding some cards in its sleeve because we have a hunch there’s even more to uncover.
