Nike just gave a nod to Sony with PG2, their latest tech-ish pair of sneakers. The shoes may not be as daring as HyperAdapt 1.0, which self-laced, but they have a bunch of irresistible features for gamers #objectmagic
The first thing you’ll notice when you look at these cool sneakers is the glowing logos up front. One is the recognizable PlayStation icon, while the other is NBA player Paul George’s logo. The player has been hands-on with Nike on this limited edition Sony sneakers design.
Both logos can be activated with a press of a button located inside the sneaker. The moment the feature is enabled, your feet will pulse in a similar way to the vibrations coming from a DualShock controller. Pretty neat, albeit a bit unnerving at first! Nike says the features work thanks to self-contained batteries that guarantee 150 hours of life. So, choose your timing carefully!
The Nike-Sony blend continues with a galaxy-themed insole that resembles PlayStation wallpapers and blue, green, pink and red lace locks. Zoom in on them and tell us they don’t remind you of PS controller buttons. The space theme is also present in the glowing-in-the-dark outsole.
That’s not all. If you happen to be a Paul George fan, as well as an avid gamer, check the barcode on the right shoe – that will give you access to the player’s custom dynamic theme on the console. There’s also talk about a surprise Sony is keeping under wraps for now.
The PG2 sneakers will hit stores next month, on the 10th, for $110.
