The classic science fiction movie 2001: A Space Odyssey was originally released April 3, 1968. For its 50th anniversary, greet card manufacturer Hallmark has announced it’s inspired keepsake: the HAL 9000 Christmas ornament.
Inspired by the sentient computer controlling the protagonists’ spacecraft, the HAL 9000 ornament will sport the iconic glowing eye and even quote from the movie. While we don’t know what quotes will be included, the price is an affordable $20 per ornament. The keepsake will be available for purchase starting October 6.
Hallmark’s HAL 9000 inspired ornament isn’t the only 2001: A Space Odyssey themed item celebrating the movie’s 50th anniversary.
