Acer has just revealed that a few of their laptops will ship with Amazon’s Alexa already installed. The Nitro 5 Spin (available in June) will be the first Acer notebooks to ship with Alexa pre-installed.
Acer is also promising updates to enable Alexa on the rest of its compatible models, starting with the Spin 5 on May 23rd and the Spin 3 on May 25th.
Alexa on Acer laptops will offer access to the usual artificial intelligence (AI) based tasks the voice-assistant has become famous for. Through Alexa, users can control smart home devices, check the weather, play music, and much more.
Among the laptops the Spin 5 is the only Acer model that has far-field voice recognition capabilities. For other laptops, users will have to stand quite close for Alexa to understand you.
