While big names like Vivo and HTC dominated convention hall W5 at Mobile World Congress Shanghai 2018, startups also had a large presence. One particular startup that stood out from the crowd was NanoflowX, an advanced nano-coating solution for electronics. #mwcs18 #ttllive
According to their booth, Nanoflow X:V2 is an “electronic waterproofing agent… which protects against water, corrosion, and moisture.” IPX68 certified, the solution coats electronics and makes them resistant to dust, dirt, sand and is water resistant up to 1.5 meters.
Their main demo involved two circuit boards submerged underwater. Even though they were completely under, the boards still worked fine, flashing a message brightly and consistently. Just as advertised, the coating solution protected the electronics from water damage and did not prevent them from working as intended.
This solution, however, works for clothing, too. NanoflowX is an official partner with IMSA (International Motor Sports Association). Racers wear clothing treated with NanoflowX technology to wick off moisture, sweat, and dirt. At the booth, the spokesperson sprayed water on a tissue. The water beaded up and could be wiped off, leaving the tissue completely dry.
If you’re interested in this technology, several of their products are already available online!
