Google announced a set of third-party integrations today but the star of the announcement was actually Flutter, the company’s UI toolkit for building Android and iOS mobile applications.

The UI toolkit aims to aid developers in building native app experiences from one single codebase and what differentiates Flutter from all the other cross-platform UI toolkits out there is the fact that it’s focused on offering speed and developer control over everything else.

Flutter comes with a “stateful hot reload” which the developers can use to adjust or otherwise tweak their app’s design in real-time. This eliminates the need to reload or rebuild the codebase. They can update without losing the app’s state, which makes using Flutter three times more productive.

If you just can’t wait to get your hands on it, you can find it here. Google even provided the necessary documentation to help developers who might be coming in from other frameworks adjust to it.

The framework is being used by Google already to power up the Google Ads app – which is a clear indicator that the company thinks it’s ripe and ready. Google itself is not the only company using it though: among the users we can count Alibaba, Groupon and Capital One, just to name a few.
