Jaybird is back and the company has updated its Run true wireless headphones. They’re now called the Run XT and they come with an IPX7 waterproof rating which is supposed to hold its own even under extreme conditions.
The original version was just sweatproof and water-resistant but now, allegedly, you can even use them during a serious downpour.
The first Run headphones suffered some Bluetooth connectivity issues so hopefully the company worked it all out before launching the new model.
In addition to weatherproofing them, Jaybird also gave the earphones new colors: Black/Flash and Storm Gray/Glacier, to be more exact.
Aside from all these details, there doesn’t seem to be much difference between them and their predecessors. The headphones come with the same 12 hours worth of battery life, can be used to summon the personal assistant of your choice and have a Spotify integration as well.
The only other change is related to the companion app. Jaybird will be releasing a podcast feature that will be available come February. The app will feature an extra tab which will help you find podcasts from Jaybird athletes and staff.
The headphones will cost $180 and will go on sale in February.
