Samsung and Huawei have been fighting in courts in both the U.S and China since 2016 on the grounds that, according to Huawei, Samsung has been using its cellular communications technology without its express consent, constantly avoiding to enter a licensing agreement with them.
In return, Samsung has denied the accusations and in accused Huawei of trying to impose and increase licensing fees on the company and eventually decided to sue them as well, in an U.S court.
The companies were supposed to go to trial in September but, according to a report from Reuters, they have agreed to settle the issue, at least momentarily, but the court filing does not detail the reason for the joint agreement.
What it does say is that it asks for a 30-day stay after which both companies will reach a settlement and Huawei will drop an appeal request.
You can read the detailed settlement in its entirety here.
