One of the leaders in mobile manufacturing, Samsung, has hinted that it might soon do away with the flat display altogether, focusing its energy on the production of curved screens for its flagship series #mobilemagic
After Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge sale numbers caught the company by surprise a while ago, proving them that this feature is one of several keys to success, they released the Galaxy Note 7, a one version phablet with curved screen. If it’s a winning bet, Samsung might even consider to design the next S8 with curved body, forgetting all about the flat screen.
It’s a big “if”, but Samsung is clearly motivated by the response of customers so far, indicating it will further concentrate on a user experience that puts it in the best light: “Samsung has considered that it would make the edge display as the identity of the Galaxy S smartphone lineup if the company can provide consumers differentiated user experience through software and user-friendly functions”, stated Koh Dong-jin, head of Samsung’s mobile business.
According to Android Authority, Samsung’s curved screens aren’t desirable only for their customers, but rival manufacturers too, who are currently buying in bulk from the Korean titan.
