Dismantling expectations and generating disorder – this is how an innovative design studio, Buro Achter April, sees “work”. It’s no wonder that their transmediale.11 installation was an interactive wall that made its way in Berlin’s subway #objectmagic #realitymagic
Starting from a dot and a line, resembling numbers 1 and 0, the company found a way to suggest the man-machine connection in this period of time. “It constitutes the foundation of modern communication, translating our humanness in to the digital space”, Buro Achter April described on the official site. Indeed, the more you play with the installation, the more complex patterns appear, creating a fascinating binary dance. It reminded us of Daniel Rozin’s furry mirror, except his art mirrored your motions instead of creating new ones on the surface.
The entire production took place thanks to motion design and live action film work. The basis was the main Claim “Response: Ability” of the art and media festival. The best part? You can look and play with it all day long, becoming a creator yourself.
