The World’s Largest 3D Printed Pen Sculpture Is… A Nissan

Nissan took an unconventional approach to promote its Qashqai Black Edition crossover SUV. Instead of daring, spectacular clips, it relied on something more palpable, like a life-sized, 3D printed pen sculpture #automagic

During a record time of 800 hours, artist Grace Du Prez and her team glued the Nissan piece by piece. The final result looks like a car skeleton, fragile and yet impressive, since they kept the proportions of the car.

Prez used the 3Doodler create to achieve this mind-blowing result that the company is dubbing the “world’s largest 3D pen sculpture.” Considering they used 8.6miles of strands, the record isn’t that hard to believe.

So, what was the hidden purpose of this gimmick? Just to make us marvel over it, especially since the world’s most popular trade show for consumer electronics will officially open its doors the day after tomorrow. Why not talk about Nissan’s cool sculpture over the next days, right?!
