Nissan Self-Driving Chair Helps You Sit In Line At Apple Stores

Each fall, inevitably, after the Apple announcement event, soon-to-be customers come at dawn at the stores, prepared to stand in line for hours to buy the newest products. Long lines form, people’s knees give up and everything becomes an ordeal. Well, no more; Nissan has created the perfect chair to take you to the counter #automagic

After developing chairs that park at designated spots once occupants leave them empty, Nissan Motor is coming with a second chair series, this time, dedicated to customers, not employees. The ProPilot Chairs use sensor technology to follow one another, in a perfect line, at a fixed distance. That makes them ideal for people standing in line.

Imagine sitting at a line, driven by this chair to the counter, instead of standing and approaching the desk with small steps. Better, right? Oh, and unlike those prototype office chair, these ones will be available for rent by businesses. Restaurants in Japan could apply to rent them by tweeting specific words until the end of December. Next year, we’ll probably see them in action at different hot spots.

This technology would help all of us that hate standing in lines but especially elders that don’t have the stamina they used to.
