Summer has started and while many of us are still in quarantine, our Animal Crossing counterparts are about to splash into the season thanks to a new free update to Animal Crossing: New Horizons!
Announced in a video on Nintendo’s official channel, Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be getting a summer themed update on July 3rd. For starters, our villagers will be able to swim and dive into the ocean. At the bottom of the sea floor, there will also be new creatures and treasures to find. Blather sure seems excited for new sea creature donations!
Additionally, there will be two new(ish) encounters. Pascal makes a reappearance. The otter will appear when you find a scallop on the seafloor, offering mermaid themed DIY recipes in exchange. Additionally, Gulliver appears as a castaway, but this time in different colored attire. What he will bring now is all but speculation!
These updates will be sure to add a whole bunch of new content for Animal Crossing: New Horizon players to engage with. What’s more, there will be a Summer Update Part 2 coming later in August!
The summer is going to be full of great times, sunny weather, and things to do on your New Horizons island.
