No one actually took Apple Maps seriously – even the majority of Apple users often turned to Google Maps to search for directions in the past, but it looks like things are about to change.
Apple has been adding new features to its Maps project for a while now. More recently, Apple Maps introduced transit directions for the U.S and the rest of the world as well as indoor maps.
Apple updated its iOS Feature Availability page with a list of the places where directions have become available: Alaska, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, North Dakota, New York, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Dakota, and Texas.
In addition to these U.S states, we can also count countries like Australia on the list, parts of Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
But it’s not all about long travels: Apple has introduced indoor maps for airports such as the Fort Lauderdale – Hollywood International Airport (FLL), Newcastle International Airport (NCL), and the Milano Linate Airport (LIN).
And it’s not only the airports who benefit from them but malls, as well. The cities that now have mall maps range from Sydney in Australia to Castel Guelfo di Bologna in Italy and all the way to Tokyo and Chiyoda, in Japan.
You can read the full list on Apple’s Feature Availability website.
