According to Japanese site Macotakara, the 2019 iPhone will be using Lightning, as a cost-saving measure, even if the company will be packing in the phone’s box the 5W charger and the USB-A to Lightning cable.
That means that you’ll still need to purchase a USB-C to Lightning cable to fast charge your most recent iPhone. Oh and also the power brick that comes with USB-C Power Delivery support.
Apple has started shipping the 18W USB-C charger alongside the iPad Pro line in the fall of 2018 so a lot of people assumed that the accessory will become a staple for the iPhone as well.
Unfortunately, if Macotakara’s report is to be believed, we’re not going to get that on the 2019 iPhone. The headphone jack will also not make a return, but if you’re ready to upgrade your iPhone, nevertheless, it might be worth to invest in a couple of these – they’re easy to lose, trust us.
