NVIDIA announced its new high-end cards, the RTX 2080 Super and RTX 2070 Super, and Asus already incorporated them in a flashy new laptop.
Meet the Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 15, a multitasking supreme machine that will probably make any PC gamer happy with its dual-screen design.
Yes, this gaming laptop has two screens and no, you can’t use the second as a keyboard.
Asus paired a 15.6-inch panel, which can be either 4K 60 Hz or Full HD 300 Hz, with a smaller 14.1-inch 60 Hz touchscreen with a 3840 x 1100 px resolution.
This one you can prop at a 13-degree angle.
It not only puts the screen in a comfortable viewing position but also improves airflow, letting the laptop fans draw air from the opening underneath the screen.
Since it’s a touchscreen, gamers could use the secondary screen to access the in-game overlays – here, Asus says it’s working on optimizing Dying Light 2 and has apps for popular multiplayer games like Fortnite, CS:Go and League of Legends.
Content makers could benefit from this by keeping Discord there or their preferred streaming software.
Moving on from the flashy screens and onto the flashy hardware.
As we said before, the Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 uses Nvidia’s New RTX 2080 Super.
At the top of the line, the dual-screen laptop will cost $3,699 and come with the 4K screen, an Intel Core i9-10890 HK paired with 32 GB of RAM and 2TB of RAID storage.
It will launch on June 1st. However, the more modest configurations (if you can call them that) will launch later, on June 29th.
Both will have the FullHD 300 Hz screen but will downgrade some specs.
The $3,499 one will have the same specs as the most expensive model but go down to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of PCIe storage.
Then, there’s the $2,999 option.
The most affordable Zephyrus Duo 15 goes down to Core i7-10875H, 32GB of RAM, 2TB of storage (RAID). It also switches the RTX 2080 Super to an RTX 2070 Super but that will still run any PC game you can dream of.
