Zenmuse Z3 uses a 1/2.3-inch sensor and a 3.5X optical zoom lens, to which DJI adds a 2X digital zoom. Now, you’re probably wondering how in the world are you going to stabilize the overall result, since zooming in accentuates camera shake?!
Well, the company seems to have helped in that matter quite a bit, by tweaking the gimbal. That’s not to say you can record amazing clips using full zoom, as DJI strongly recommends you stick to stills…
If you already own a drone from the company, you’ll be able to get the camera with optical zoom separately, at a steep price: $899. Think really carefully if you’re investment will pay off.
