Extreme Mountain Dew Drone Racing, To Be Aired on Twitch

Lots of drones are still in toy teritory, but for a lucky few they can act as creative outlet or spark their competitive side. The last are already organizing small drone races in their backyards but needed a major brand to initiate a daring race for a summer to remember. Mountain Dew took the helms and is now backing up this August’ fiercest drone race #actionmagic

The energy drink brand will be hosting the DR1 Invitational in L.A, a “one-hour drone-racing special slated to air on both Discovery Channel and Science Channel.” To promote their involvement in this new type of sport, they created an ad that might just give ideas to daredevils everywhere. Bikers are seen hunting drones with nets, as you did in 5th grade with butterflies. It’s an exhilarating clip to watch and we have no doubt this August, plenty of quadcopters will keep you on the edge of your seats.

If you can’t be live at the event, the organizers promised to stream it live on gaming platform Twitch.
